Even today, Arches is the only manufacturer in the whole of France to use a cylinder mould for the entire process of producing art and printing paper. This traditional method, combined with the use of cotton (a natural raw material) makes it possible to produce the highest quality watermarked paper that is stable and has natural veins and rippled edges. True to its centuries-old heritage, Arches was awarded the title of “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” (Living Heritage Company).
Tradition, history, and innovation have come together to create products of unbeatable quality, including paper for the Fine Arts (watercolour, oil, and drawing), art publishing (prints, books, and photographs), printing, and writing.
For over five centuries, famous artists and writers have chosen to create art on ARCHES® sublime paper mediums, giving their creativity an eternal imprint.
